Main hall

Our main hall provides a great deal of flexibility. We have retractable seating that can seat 120 people. We also have a projector and sound and lighting system. This will allow us to run film, music or theatre nights. If the retractable seating is not in use, the hall can be set up with round and rectangular tables toaccommodate party nights with a maximum of 90 people seated (60 if space for dancing and disco/band required.

F A C I L I T I E S It is the ambition of Inverkip Community Initiative to provide the hall with a state of the art sound and vision system. One that is very simple to set up and use, while at the same time ensuring high quality is maintained. To achieve this will take time but progress is being made and bulletins will be issued from time to time to update the position. What you can just see at the top in the photograph above is the lighting bar. It is paired with an industry standard lighting deck, complete with memory facility. That means you can rehearse your lighting, record it and then play it back at the flick of a switch. So producing complex and impressive effects is easy. Sound? That is in place, as the photograph shows. You can feed in to the address system from your mobile phone, CD player or any other device. There is a sophisticated sound deck to arrange the sound to your preference. All connections are straightforward, being easy and quick to assemble. We have both free standing and radio microphones of high quality to link into the system via the sound deck.   U P D A T E The first step in this ambition has already been taken: the video system is now in place and in use. A ceiling mounted high specification projector provides cinema size and quality images. These aredisplayed on the wall behind the speakers. A special surface is in place there for that. Wall mounted sockets are located beside the sound desks (shown in the picture) making setting up the equipment very simple. We have a blue ray DVD player available for use, but your own laptop can also be connected should you prefer. Help is on hand should you have any difficulty with this.   Next on the Wish list? Accoustics. While the sound system is top notch, we are looking to improve how music and speech actually sound in the hall. To date, a consultant has been engaged to consider how that might be achieved.

Fun free play is a vital element along with singing (with all the actions), story telling, toy cars and making things, all in a very safe and secure environment. A warm welcome awaits the children accompanied by mum, dad and grandparents. There is also a chance for mums (dads and grandmums) to meet and chat while engaging with the children.

Here you can see some of the things available for the children to play with.
