A letter from Kevin...

At last the Inverkip Community Hub has opened to the public. It has been a long process with many ups and downs along the way but now we are here it’s time to move on and create a new vision for the whole community.

The hub is already proving to be a popular venue. In the first three weeks of opening over 700 people have attended various groups and classes, the five aside pitch has taken regular bookings, Saturday kids parties are proving to be popular and the Library has come back to Inverkip which is a welcome addition to our Community Hub.

My role as centre manager is to manage the day to day running of the facility and carry out the vision of the board of directors and the community.

With my background in Community Development, I am well aware of the need for further consultation with current users and the wider community. We have recently hosted an open weekend for people to have a look around and put forward ideas for future activities.

Inverkip Community Initiative plans to host further events that will showcase the resources on offer at the hub so please come along and get involved.

Already there is a great atmosphere and sense of community around the Hub - feedback from users and organisations using the facility has been excellent. The Hub has amazing potential and if we continue to develop with new ideas and attract new user groups and organisations, the sustainability of the hub will also be secured allowing us to provide services to local people for many years to come.

Remember, it is your Hub. I hope you enjoy it and I hope you'll let us know what we're doing well and how we can improve.

Best wishes,

Kevin
