The Cliff Lyons Hall

Our main hall provides a great deal of flexibility. We have retractable seating that can seat 120 people. We also have a projector and sound and lighting system. This will allow us to run film, music or theatre nights. If the retractable seating is not in use, the hall can be set up with round and rectangular tables to accommodate party nights with a maximum of 90 people seated (60 if space for dancing and disco/band required.  

HALL FEATURES

• Retractable Seating - As above. Seats 120. 

• Projector - We have a ceiling mounted high specification projector provides cinema size and quality images. Wall mounted sockets are located beside the sound desks (shown in the picture) making setting up the equipment very simple. We have a blue ray DVD player available for use, but your own laptop can also be connected should you prefer. Where only an HDMI socket is available on your player, we have a connector to enable the sound to be played through the speaker system in the hall.

• Lighting - The hall has a pair of lighting bars paired with an industry standard lighting deck, complete with memory facility. This means you can rehearse your lighting, record it and then play it back at the flick of a switch. So producing complex and impressive effects is easy.

• Sound System - The sound system can be used by plugging in your mobile phone, laptop or any other device. There is a sophisticated sound deck to arrange the sound to your preference. All connections are straightforward, being easy and quick to assemble. While the sound in the hall is fine on most occasions, we are looking into ways to improve that.

• Microphones - We have both free standing and radio microphones of high quality to link into the system via the sound deck.

We have a dedicated team of sound engineers who can help set up your event should you need help.

Kids parties

The main hall can also be used for Children’s Parties with a Bouncy Castle and soft toys available.  Hire of the hall for parties also include the availability of the kitchen and lounge area if required. The Astro Turf can also be booked for kids parties. Book here.

Meeting room

Training Room – the training room is available for hire and can accommodate meetings, workshops, seminars with 12-14 people seated comfortable. A large interactive television is available for use of presentations. 

Meeting Room – the meeting room can also be hired for meetings with 8-10 people seated comfortably. Again a large television is available for users.

For larger meetings, the partition between the two rooms can be folded back to provide a much larger room which will accommodate around 20 people comfortably around the board room table. (Picture to the right.)

Five a side pitch

A great facility for adults and children. Very popular for children’s football parties.  Floodlights allow for evening use.

Library

A room in the new facility has been dedicated to the provision of library facilities. Library opening hours are as follows – 

• Monday – 3:30pm until 7pm

• Tuesday – 1pm until 5pm

• Thursday -  3:30pm until 7pm

• Friday – 2pm until 5pm

• Saturday – 10am until 1pm  

Library staff also run a Bookbug club on Tuesdays at 1pm.

Lounge Area

The lounge area next to the kitchen as well as being available for parties can also be hired for meetings. Around 16 people can be accommodated comfortably and again there is a large television available for users. A tea/coffee machine is located in the lounge.  This area also doubles as a waiting area and/or a meeting place for any visitors.

Kitchen

The kitchen is well stocked with crockery and cutlery for 100 people, as well as a refrigerator, small freezer box, oven, cooker, microwave, toaster, smoothie machine, kettles and flasks. The kitchen can be used to serve/prepare food for parties or refreshments for meetings.
